Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during my first counseling session?

Letting a complete stranger into your emotional world can feel quite vulnerable and may feel like a pretty big decision. That is why in our first session we will focus on establishing rapport and trust. You will be invited to share about what is motivating you to seek out therapy, and we will collaborate on how to best address reaching your therapeutic goals. An environment of mutual trust and respect is important for the processes of growth and healing which is why we will focus on establishing these components early on.

No, I work with individuals and couples from all faith backgrounds and worldviews. While I have a deep understanding of the Christian faith and am particularly equipped to support those who wish to incorporate it into their healing process, my approach is inclusive, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s unique beliefs and values.

Counseling provides a structured, supportive space to process the pain of betrayal or addiction while developing tools for healing and restoration. The PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy) model, developed by Dr. Stan Tatkin, integrates neuroscience, attachment theory, and arousal regulation to help couples rebuild trust and security. While empirical research on PACT is still developing, its foundations are supported by well-established studies on attachment and neurobiology. PACT focuses on creating a secure-functioning relationship, where both partners prioritize mutual care, emotional attunement, and safety. As a PACT-trained therapist, I will focus on helping the couples I work with understand their relational patterns, strengthen emotional resilience, and develop lasting strategies for connection and healing.

The out-of-pocket cost for a standard 50 minute Therapy session (Individual and Couples) is $225. Since I am out-of-network with most insurance companies (with the exception of Aetna and Medicare) I would encourage you to try our benefits checker which I have access to through Mentaya to see if Mentaya can help you reduce your out-of-pocket costs.
