Preview Week 1
Before we begin, it's important to name something clearly: this study is not about shaming you. It's not about crushing you with what you've done. And it's not about earning your way back into God's favor or your spouse's trust. It's about hope — not vague optimism, but the grounded hope of the gospel.
In Zechariah 1:1–6, God speaks to a people standing in the ruins of what was once strong and secure. The opening is convicting — and for many of us, conviction quickly activates shame: the urge to hide, explain, minimize, shut down, or get defensive. This first week helps you slow down enough to notice those patterns without obeying them, and to begin building the internal strength required to stay present with truth.
God's invitation is strikingly simple: "Return to me… and I will return to you." Not "perform for me." Not "fix everything immediately." Not "prove yourself." Return. Week 1 lays the foundation for lasting change by helping you practice honest ownership anchored in grace — the kind of steadiness that becomes the beginning of rebuilding trust over time.
Sample Reflection Questions

- How have these patterns shown up in your relationship, and what has it cost your partner?
- What would it look like to "return" to God in full ownership this week?
